THEORY OF THE CRIME:
NAME OF SUSPECT(S) (Who?) wife, Mrs. Paddinham and James Braiden
MOTIVE (Why?) Wife had a secret love affair with a 32 year old man named James Braiden. Wife knew she wouldn’t be able to run off with James without the money in the will of her husband.
METHOD (How?) Wife says that she is going out. Wife tells James to go in after she is gone and get rid of Harold. James receives the 32 caliber pistol from wife and James heads upstairs at 1:30 AM. James enters the bedroom of the soon to be victim. James, not being a master criminal, wakes Harold. Harold panics and jumps out of bed and both get into a struggle. James pushes Harold into the wall, cracking it and throws him back out to the stairway. James pulls out the 32 caliber pistol, aims the gun, and fires. Harold falls back into the window. James fires another time, hitting Harold in the neck and hitting the window. Harold falls down the spiral staircase and once he hits the bottom he dies of loss of blood and suffocation.
