Another damn war… How many times can this country take our people to fight for a lost cause? We’ve been stuck in that region for years. All it has done is taken our children, our fathers, and other loved ones away. These countries just seem like children to me. If only they would just stop fighting and get along. Maybe I would still have a son, and maybe I wouldn’t have lost my wife either. When our son died, we were devastated. But she took it worse. She couldn’t eat; she wouldn’t sleep, and she would just sit there for hours and look through photo albums. We found her at home in the bedroom on the one month anniversary of our son’s death. I don’t know why I’m still here. She gets to be with him, but what about me? What about my needs? Who do I have? No one. Hold on, the mail just arrived… What’s this? It’s a letter from the U.S. Military… “Draft Notice?”
