Lesson # 1 Theatre Fundamentals/Focusing on Romeo and Juliet

Cape Henlopen High School  Lewes, DE

I have been trapped in this man’s closet for four weeks now, but it seems much longer. He only feeds me once a week. I’m so hungry! I wish my mom and dad would find me. I wonder if they’re even looking. The man brought home a lady last night. She was really loopy. It smells like my dad’s garage after my dad’s beer has been sitting out there for a week. I have yet to catch his name. He looks to be in his thirties. He is tall, brown hair. He has rough hands. He avoids contact, which I like, but I wish he would unlock this door. He brought me here at night. I know this because when he took the sack off my head I looked around. There is a window; it’s open. The streetlights are on, illuminating the street. There is a plant, a dead plant. It makes me miss mom. She has the best garden. I found a bruise today, sitting there scared, wishing I could get out. I remember: it’s from when he shoved me in his trunk. OH NO! He’s home! I hope he feeds me tonight.
